Rooted Movement aims to promote creative expression of movement in fitness training.
"Our goal is to help the individual develop purposeful and adaptable strength / ability in a world that has forgotten the need for functional movement. We promote an environment of self-discovery through the mindful practice of efficient techniques."
Rooted Movement primarily employs the methodology of MovNat - a natural physical education system founded by Erwan LeCorre. The general philosophy behind MovNat is that it is available to everyone. One does not need to be in phenomenal shape to participate or benefit from MovNat training. Conversely, even those that are fit can benefit from MovNat.
MovNat operates under Three Domains of natural movement:
- Locomotive: running, walking, balancing, jumping crawling, climbing and swimming
- Manipulative: carrying, lifting, throwing and catching
- Combative: striking, grappling (ability to defend self and/or others)
