Tis the Season to Give and Receive at Glitz Nashville
Would you like to donate a $25 gift card to a great cause and receive a $50 Glitz Nashville gift card in return? Thought so!
This holiday season, Glitz Nashville wants to help give back to local servicemen and women and their families by donating to a Tennessee based organization, A Soldier’s Child. This year, the organization is hosting a Family to Family Christmas and hopes to give back to over 1000 local children of veterans.
“A Soldier’s Child started its Family to Family Christmas program to give back to the families of our servicemen and women who have sacrificed so much. Lost in the busyness of the Christmas season are the children of those who serve – who sometimes wake up Christmas morning missing mom or dad and perhaps not understanding why they can’t be there. Another question the children of a military family ask is “does anyone even care about all our family goes through”. With your help, well over a 1000 young children from nearby Ft. Campbell might have a reason to smile when they wake on Christmas day. And with the love that the Christmas season offers, these children will know that the people their mom or dad protect, honors them.” – A Soldier’s Child Foundation
From now until Saturday, December 5th, Glitz Nashville is asking customers to bring in a $25 Walmart, Target, or iTunes gift card to support local children through the Family to Family Christmas event. In return for their generous donation, customers will receive a $50 Glitz Nashville gift certificate to use towards a future purchase (expiration 3/31/2016).

Bridal Trends to Watch for in 2016
Brides want to feel both beautiful and unique on their wedding day, so it’s important for bridal salons to keep up with the ever-changing trends in wedding fashion. Nashville salon, Glitz Nashville, hand picks wedding gowns, so their brides have the newest and best gowns to choose from. Stunning details, new silhouettes, and beautiful colors are new trends that Glitz Nashville is excited about sharing with their fashionista brides.
It’s all in the details. Layers of lace, 3-D appliques, and illusion backs and necklines are all trends you’ll see in the upcoming bridal season. These textures and design details are setting dresses apart from those of the past. Fashion forward brides are using these beautiful dress elements to introduce new and unique details into their weddings.
Colorful Brides. Beautiful blush shades, fabulous florals, and stunning stone washes will offer brides new options when choosing a gown for their wedding. Color and shade variations allow brides to buy gowns that perfectly suit their skin tone. The new colors also highlight the stunning details showing up in gowns.
Two can be better than one. Two piece gowns are stealing the show. Multiple pieces allow brides to have several looks during their wedding day by quickly switching out a top or skirt. Crop tops have reached bridal fashion and are looking fabulous on brides who want to elegantly bare a little more. The options in skirts and tops are giving brides a level of versatility that they’ve never seen before.

Menswear often takes a back seat to the bride, but at Glitz Nashville they think the groom deserves to share the spotlight! There are many ways to bring unique looks to your wedding through tuxedos and suits. Whether you are having a casual gathering or a formal affair, you can customize the menswear to perfectly suit your day (yes, the pun was intended). Glitz Nashville recommends you schedule an appointment with a tuxedo and suit specialist two months before your wedding date to plan and finalize your look.Glitz Nashville has come up with a few little tips to help!
Ways to Customize Your Tuxedos or Suits:
- Wear colorful socks, suspenders, or patterned ties or bowties. Having the groomsmen wear themed shirts (like superheroes) under the tux make for great, creative photographs. This can also be achieve through themed socks! It adds personality to the party without drawing too much attention.
- Add a pop of color with a pocket square.
- Allow the groom to stand out by wearing a jacket, while the groomsmen wear only vests or suspenders. This can also be done with the jacket colors differing from the groom. Having a slight variation in colors still creates a uniformed, classic look but adds dimension and personal flare. Monograming initials on the groomsmen’s suspenders also makes for a great gift.
- Wear details of the wedding on your lapel with unique boutonnieres - cotton, feathers, or paper flowers.
Contact Glitz Nashville to set up an appointment with a tuxedo and suit specialist to beautifully style the menswear for your wedding day. How to Find Your Perfect Wedding Gown
Shopping for a bridal gown is one of the most exciting parts of the wedding planning process. Knowing what to expect while shopping can help brides make the most of their salon experience. Glitz Nashville has created a list of five tips to make finding your bridal gown a fun and relaxing event!
1. Call ahead to schedule an appointment –
Many bridal salons prefer you schedule an appointment to try on gowns. Appointments allow the salons to provide you with the best possible service. Typical bridal appointments last approximately 1.5 hours. During the appointment, you will work one-on-one with an experienced stylist to discover your bridal style.
2. Keep it simple –
Bringing a large entourage when searching for the perfect gown can often lead to more stress than guidance. Consider bringing only two or three of your most trusted friends or family members to your appointment. Then, have a dress reveal the morning of your wedding!
3. It’s never too early to begin the search –
Bridal gowns can take six months to order and you’ll also need to schedule enough time for alterations. Be sure to take that into account when planning your wedding timeline. Most stores require 50% of the cost of the gown to place an order, so approach the appointment with a budget in mind and be prepared to place an order if you find “the one”.
4. Don’t be married to an idea –
Keep an open mind when searching for your perfect dress. It usually takes some trial and error to figure out what style works best for your body, or which fabric you like most. Be honest about what you like or don’t like in a gown, because it will help your consultant pull the best dresses for you to try on.
5. Relax & have fun! –
You will be a beautiful bride, no matter what gown you choose. Wedding gown shopping should be an exciting event for every bride. Have fun and trust the professionals to take care of you!

How To Get The Most Out Of A Trunk Show
Brides are always looking for the latest designs to complete their perfect wedding day look. Bridal and formal salons, like Glitz Nashville in Nashville , Tennessee, hold trunk shows, giving fiancées an opportunity to try on the newest styles in bridal fashion. However, there is often some confusion on what exactly a “trunk show” entails. Here are some fun facts to help brides make the most out of their trunk show appointments.
What is a trunk show?
It’s an event, at which bridal salons showcase the newest line of dresses from a featured designer. Typically, the designer or a representative from the company attends the show in order to discuss the news styles and gowns with brides-to-be.
Why do stores have trunk shows?
Most boutiques only carry a few dresses from each designer. Trunk shows allow the salons to bring in more dresses that wouldn’t ordinarily be at the store. In doing so, brides have a wider range of options from their favorite designers!
What are the perks?
Although trunk shows are not technically sales, some stores offer advantages for ordering during the event. For example, some salons will offer to pay the sales tax on a gown, or will give the bride an option of a free bridal accessory. Since the designer or a representative is usually at the show, it gives brides a unique opportunity to talk directly to the company and discuss any changes that she may want to make to the dress in order to achieve a custom look. The designer may make additions to the dress (adding buttons or a longer train) without charge.
When are trunk shows?
Salons plan trunk shows throughout the year. The shows usually last from one to three days, and appointments fill up quickly. Call well in advance to schedule a time to try on gowns!
If you are interested in attending a future trunk show at Glitz Nashville , call 615-646-9964 to set up an appointment.

Glitz Nashville Supports Local High School Musical Programs
Here at Glitz Nashville, we strongly believe in giving back to the community. We make it a point to invest in, and support, local causes that are close to our hearts. One cause we ardently support is the emotional, and social growth of our teenagers. This is why we support our local high school marching bands, as we believe one of the most meaningful and significant experiences of a teenager's high school career is their involvement in marching band.
We know this because Ann Miller, our president, has a son whose life has been profoundly changed by marching band. “Marching band has given my son confidence, structure, and a community of friends that will last a lifetime,” Ann says. “From middle school to high school and now to Drum Corp International, I cannot overstate what marching band has done for my son, and my family.”
As any parent who has ever had a child in band is aware, participation requires constant fundraising. This is where Glitz Nashville is able to help. Not only does Ann personally invest countless hours in fundraising for her son and his band, but Glitz Nashville, as a company, helps local bands meet their goals and succeed. We make monetary donations to Drum Corp International, as well as local high schools including Franklin High School, Harpeth High School, Harpeth Hall Girl’s School, and Ravenwood High School. In addition, we donate tuxedo rentals for the bands' various fundraising events and silent auctions, as well as give discounts to all band members that shop with us.
For many kids, music is the positive motivator to help them succeed in all areas of their lives. Music gives them a way to express themselves and be creative, as well as be a part of something bigger than themselves. Their common musical interest helps to form friendships and bonds that last a lifetime. They learn dedication, passion and teamwork–skills that will carry them into young adulthood and through the rest of their lives. The positive life lessons from band are endless, and it can even be a great way for the kids to let loose and have fun!
It is hard to find a worthier cause than investing in the quality of our children’s lives and futures. Glitz Nashville is honored to be a part of this cause, no matter what form it takes. To learn more about our company and our passions, visit glitznashville.com .

Glitz Nashville offers one of the largest selections of unique gowns in the southeast. Each gown is hand selected at market by Ann Miller, President and Kortney Kaye, Store Manager. Ann developed her strategic buying method years ago to insure the widest selection possible.
Miller states, “Women love trying different styles, materials, and designers to ensure the perfect dress is found. I make sure we have hundreds to choose from and Kortney’s ability to spot hot trends at market ensures the styles selected will be the ones you’ll see on the red carpet.”
In addition to the amazing dress selection, our stylists are passionate about your experience. Glitz Nashville and Brides Across America
At Glitz Nashville, one of our highest honors each and every year is to participate in a wonderful program called Brides Across America . Brides Across America is a charitable organization that exists to help women in the military and fiancés of those in the military have the wedding of their dreams by partnering with bridal salons across the country to give away wedding dresses, completely free, to courageous women who may not otherwise be able to afford them. Since 2008 they have facilitated the donation of over twelve thousand wedding gowns in forty states to women in the military and fiancés of those in the military—and that number keeps on growing every year.
Glitz Nashville will be hosting a Brides Across America gown giveaway day on Thursday, July 9, 2015, beginning at 10:00 AM. In order to attend and receive a free bridal gown, military brides must pre-register online at bridesacrossamerica.com , where more information can be found about the specific qualifications for the program. Military brides or their fiancés must have been deployed within the last five years, or have an upcoming deployment scheduled, and must be planning a wedding to take place in the next eighteen months.
We want to spread the word about this event well in advance, because we have over one hundred Glitz Nashville gowns to give away from fabulous and talented designers to well-deserving brides all throughout the southern United States. We believe deeply in this cause and want to be a part of celebrating the brave men and women who risk their lives in the line of duty for our safety each and every day. Due to deployment, training, traveling, and other outstanding circumstances, many military couples are not able to devote the time or money others are to planning a wedding. Brides Across America takes one very important thing off the bride’s shoulders—the gown—and allows her to focus on feeling beautiful and having a good time on her very special day. Glitz Nashville is proud to partner with Brides Across America for this cause—and even prouder of our servicemen and women in every branch of the military.
